Jeff Dial is the Republican candidate for Maricopa County Clerk of the Superior Court. He is a former Arizona State Senator and State Representative, an Army Reserve veteran, and a small-business owner with three decades of experience managing operations, budgets, payroll, contracts, and regulatory compliance. He is running on one standard: uphold the law and follow the Constitution, not a personal agenda.

Long Bio

Jeff Dial is the Republican candidate for Clerk of the Superior Court of Maricopa County. He is a former Arizona State Senator and State Representative, an Army Reserve veteran, and a small-business owner.

In the Legislature, Jeff served on education, public safety, commerce, and technology committees and chaired the State Debt and Budget Reform Committee. He sponsored the bill that made Arizona one of the first states to let drivers show proof of insurance on a phone instead of on paper, and the 2013 law creating the Extraordinary Educators license plate, which funds classroom projects for Arizona teachers. He kept an open door for every Arizonan, an approach he will bring to the Clerk’s Office.

Since leaving the Legislature nearly ten years ago, Jeff has worked in business, helping run a multi-generation family company and later starting a small business with his wife. He has managed operations, budgets, payroll, contracts, and regulatory compliance, and has served on several Arizona boards of directors.

Jeff served in the U.S. Army Reserve and was honorably discharged. He is a former American Red Cross disaster-relief volunteer and holds a degree from Arizona State University. He and his wife are raising their young son in Maricopa County, and he is a Christian.

The Clerk’s Office handles money and paperwork, but Jeff knows it is ultimately about people. That is why he believes integrity matters most: following the law, not a personal agenda.

Campaign Priorities

  1. Your records stay private. Jeff sponsored the law that keeps the home addresses of domestic-violence survivors out of public records (HB 2302, 2011), wrote the protection that stops an officer from searching your phone when you show your insurance card (A.R.S. § 28-4135(B)), and wrote the law that keeps your library records private (HB 2165, 2013).
  2. Bring the courthouse to you. You should not have to take a day off work or hire a lawyer to file a form. Jeff will push to expand online filing and online access to court records so routine business gets done from your kitchen table.
  3. Two offices, one purpose: you. Jeff will make the Clerk’s Office and the Court work together so you are not bounced between counters, while keeping the Clerk independent of the judges.
  4. Protect your tax dollars. It is your money. Jeff will run the Clerk’s budget of more than $60 million the way he ran his own business: every dollar accounted for.
  5. Cut waste. Jeff will look at every line of the budget and ask one question: is this worth what it costs you?
  6. Tell you what this office does before you need it. Nobody should learn how the courts work during the worst week of their life.
